At Momentum we continue to have a quality coaching staff from varied backgrounds and experience. Each coach is committed to the overall development of the athlete as a whole person. This is one of the many ways our coaches offer a personalized experience to build lifelong bonds on and off the field.
Alex Dugas
Alex is a native of Beaumont and graduated from Kelly High School in 2004. He was a 3-year letter there and was named all-district twice, Hitter of the Year, and team MVP awards along the way. At McNeese State University, he lettered in baseball in 2005 and 2006.
He finished his playing career as a part of the 2006 Southland Conference championship team. He graduated from St. Edwards University in 2009.
Player development and the mental game have been the top priority over his 15 years of coaching experience.
An avid Atlanta Braves fan, he enjoys basketball, soccer, tennis, and rugby.
Austin Briggs
With seven years of professional baseball experience, including time with the Oakland Athletics, Coach Austin Briggs joins our team to provide athletes with a foundation built on resilience, focus, and athletic skill. As a former Southland Conference Champion with over 215 innings pitched professionally, Coach Briggs brings deep expertise in high-stakes gameplay and player development.
Having experienced the mental and physical demands of professional sports firsthand, Coach Briggs is dedicated to helping young athletes navigate challenges with mental strength and determination. His innovative “Bulletproof Momentum” program is designed to enhance athletic performance through targeted speed, agility, and explosive training. Each session combines professional agility drills, sprint mechanics, and endurance-building exercises, giving players the competitive edge they need to thrive on and off the field.
Josh Wilk
Josh was born and raised in Austin, Texas, where he is a junior and plays baseball at Huston-Tillotson University. He graduated from Akins High School, where he was a three-year letter player who made the second team all-district twice and played in the AABCA All-Star game. He specializes in infield and hitting development while focusing on mentality and leadership skills. Still in Austin, Josh enjoys his free time golfing and staying involved with baseball.
dAN pOWERS
Dan excelled at William and Mary, leading the baseball team in wins and ERA while earning an All-Colonial Athletic Conference selection. He contributed to a CAA Tournament Championship and NCAA Regional Final Appearance 2016. With a master's in Business Analytics and a bachelor's in Finance from William and Mary, Dan brings a diverse skill set to his pursuits.
Before college, he was a standout three-sport athlete at James Madison High School in Vienna, VA, focusing on baseball and football. Dan's training philosophy emphasizes incorporating various sports and athletic movements into baseball. Now based in Austin, he is active, enjoying volleyball and golf in his free time.

As a native Austinite, Luke attended Austin High, where he enjoyed a standout high school career. As a former player in the Momentum program for over 5 years, he has an exceptional grasp of the game and the goals around coaching our youth!
