Meet your mentors of the month

Ames Alejandro (March 2025)
My experience with Momentum was awesome. I started with them when I was 12 years old and played Juniors following COVID. Coach Alex and his coaches are amazing. He truly pushes you to be a great person on the field and off the field. He has taught me to be a better person and he has made me into the baseball player I am today. I don’t know what I would do without him and the organization. Also, now to be mentoring it’s just so cool to see that when I was at that young age I looked up to all these mentors that Coach Alex had and now I’m teaching kids and showing them the ropes of baseball and being a better person.

Beck Forrester (February 2025)
Momentum Baseball has taught me not only to be an excellent baseball player but an excellent person as well. Coach Alex has made it a priority to instill hard work, fun, and team camaraderie in all of his ball players, and these qualities affect every aspect of the players’ lives, not just baseball. Mentoring at the clinics has shown me how important it is to dedicate yourself to being excellent at something. Once you know how to commit yourself mentally, learning the skill becomes a matter of time, not if or when you learn it. Coaching at the clinics has inspired me to strive to excel as both a ball player and a role model. I remember how much I looked up to the high school players who helped me when I was their age, and I try to motivate them as much as possible.

Calvin Fedyszyn (Janurary 2025)
“My time as a part of Momentum has been phenomenal, in and outside of the sport itself. Being with the program as a player was a great experience, and I think it’s shaped me as a baseball player and human being. But, I’m especially grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to come out and coach, not only because I get to be back on the fields where I played years ago, but because I can form new connections and hopefully pass on some of the stuff I learned when I was in the kids’ shoes.”

Jackson Linroth (December 2025)
I had an amazing experience playing with Momentum. What Coach Alex and his coaches teach is more than the game from a technical aspect; it is also about the player and character development that comes with it. The ability to handle adversity after a bad play or game benefited me so much in high school and college baseball. I couldn’t recommend Coach Alex’s program enough for players coming out of Little League.

Dash Kostka (November 2024)
Dash Kostka, a Momentum player, alum, and mentor since 2015, is a third-year student at the University of Texas studying Music Education and Government. Reflecting on his experience, Dash shared, “Momentum taught me teamwork, communication, work ethic, and overcoming adversity—skills I’ll carry into my career as a future public school music educator. I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow and mentor through this program.”

Joaquin Gonzalez (October 2024)
“ Since I’ve joined Momentum and started training with Coach Alex last year, I’ve not only improved so much at baseball, but also had so much more fun. Getting to help out at the SALL camps has been such a great experience, and it reminds me of how much fun I had as a little leaguer.” Joaquin Gonzalez is a sophomore at LASA high school, where he plays baseball, and also runs track and cross country. He has been playing baseball for 7 years, and started in 2017 with South Austin Little League.

Jude Bush (September 2024)
I started as a player at Momentum six years ago, and ever since then, I have been continually involved with and influenced by this program. Momentum has helped me in many ways, being a program that encourages players not only to succeed on the field but also in the classroom and as a person. Throughout the past six years, I have had the opportunity to play baseball with many different people and help mentor younger players, both of which I have continually looked forward to and enjoyed. - Jude Bush (St. Andrew’s High School - Class of 2026)

Lux Ball (August 2024)
Lux is a 7th grader at Keeling Middle School, now in his second season with Momentum. He has excelled as both a pitcher and a 3rd baseman! When asked what he enjoys most about the program, Lux says, “I love how Momentum isn’t just about making me the best player I can be; it’s about making me the best team member I can be. I remember being mentored as a younger player, and now it feels really cool to be in the same position, mentoring others.

Chris Resendez (July 2024)
Our Mentor of the Month is Chris Resendez, a Momentum alum now studying at the University of Health and Sciences and Pharmacy. Reflecting on his experience, Chris shared, “Momentum taught me not just to be a baseball player, but a good human being. The saying ‘good people, good students, good athletes’ has stuck with me and shaped who I am today.” Chris continues to inspire and support the next generation with the same passion and dedication.

Daschel Linroth (April 2024)
Choosing our 'Mentors of the Month' for March at Momentum Baseball wasn't easy because we had many good options. More than half of our 24 players joined in on clinics, showing how dedicated they were. But Daschel Linroth and Dagney Heaton caught our attention. They were always there for the South Austin Little League kids, showing up with big smiles and energy. Congrats to "Dash" and "Thunder Pickle" for being excellent mentors!
