  • Dagney Heaton (April 2024)

Choosing our 'Mentors of the Month' for March at Momentum Baseball wasn't easy because we had many good options. More than half of our 24 players joined in on clinics, showing how dedicated they were. But Daschel Linroth and Dagney Heaton caught our attention. They were always there for the South Austin Little League kids, showing up with big smiles and energy. Congrats to "Dash" and "Thunder Pickle" for being excellent mentors!

As a Momentum Junior from Fall 2022 to Spring 2023, he honed his skills and made lasting friendships. Now active in football, Marching Band, and Varsity Track & Field, William balances a busy schedule but still enjoys fishing at Barton Springs. Grateful for his experience, he shares, “Momentum has truly made me better at baseball, and I’ve made great friends along the way. Thank you, Alex!”

Our Mentor of the Month is Chris Resendez, a Momentum alum now studying at the University of Health and Sciences and Pharmacy. Reflecting on his experience, Chris shared, “Momentum taught me not just to be a baseball player, but a good human being. • Lux Ball (September 2024)

Lux is a 7th grader at Keeling Middle School, now in his second season with Momentum. He has excelled as both a pitcher and a 3rd baseman! When asked what he enjoys most about the program, Lux says, “I love how Momentum isn’t just about making me the best player I can be; it’s about making me the best team member I can be. I remember being mentored as a younger player, and now it feels really cool to be in the same position, mentoring others.

  • Jude Bush (October 2024)

I started as a player at Momentum six years ago, and ever since then, I have been continually involved with and influenced by this program. Momentum has helped me in many ways, being a program that encourages players not only to succeed on the field but also in the classroom and as a person. Throughout the past six years, I have had the opportunity to play baseball with many different people and help mentor younger players, both of which I have continually looked forward to and enjoyed.  - Jude Bush (St. Andrew’s High School - Class of 2026)

  • Joaquin Gonzalez (November 2024)

“ Since I’ve joined Momentum and started training with Coach Alex last year, I’ve not only improved so much at baseball, but also had so much more fun. Getting to help out at the SALL camps has been such a great experience, and it reminds me of how much fun I had as a little leaguer.”   Joaquin Gonzalez is a sophomore at LASA high school, where he plays baseball, and also runs track and cross country. He has been playing baseball for 7 years, and started in 2017 with South Austin Little League.

Dash Kostka, a Momentum player, alum, and mentor since 2015, is a third-year student at the University of Texas studying Music Education and Government. Reflecting on his experience, Dash shared, “Momentum taught me teamwork, communication, work ethic, and overcoming adversity—skills I’ll carry into my career as a future public school music educator. I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow and mentor through this program.”
